Arrival Information
There are two possible ways to get to Woosong University, Daejeon, from Incheon International Airport by public transport. Option 1 involves a direct bus to Daejeon. Option 2 is a subway into Seoul and then a train from there. Woosong University is located close to both the bus terminal and the train station.
Overall, we recommend Option 1 because it requires fewer changes.
Option 1: By Bus
There is a direct bus from Incheon International Airport to Daejeon Terminal Complex. Price: 27,700 KRW. You can pay by cash or with credit card.
1. If you arrive at Terminal 1, you can buy the ticket and wait for the bus on the 1st floor
The ticket office will look like this. You will easily see it on the way out of the Airport Terminal.

2. If you arrive at Terminal 2, the bus stops and ticket office are on B1 floor.

The platform will look like this. Check the platform number on your ticket to wait at the right place.
When buying the ticket, say that your destination is Daejeon Terminal Complex or “Daejeon Bokhap Terminal” (대전복합터미널) in Korean.
Please start waiting at the platform at least 10 minutes before departure time so that you have enough time to put your luggage onto the bus.
The trip will take about 3 hours. On the way, the bus may stop for passengers to use the toilet. If you leave your bus, remember which bus to get back on. We suggest you take a photo of it and where it stops, so that later you know which bus to return to.
3. When the bus reaches the destination, Daejeon Terminal Complex, make sure not to leave any belongings behind. Find your way to the road next to the terminal. There will likely be many taxis waiting, or hail a taxi, say that your destination is Woosong University International Student Dormitory (W3) or “Woosong Daehaggyo, Seo Kaempeoseu, Yuhagsaeng-gisugsa-e, Jayang-dong” in Korean, or show this to the driver:
"우송대학교 서캠퍼스 유학생기숙사에 가주세요. 자양동 155-3"
It costs about 5,000 KRW and takes about 10 minutes.
Option 2: By Subway & Train:
This is an alternative way to get from Incheon International Airport to Woosong University by subway and train. The overall route is like this:
Incheon International Airport -> Seoul Train Station -> Daejeon Train Station -> Woosong Dormitory
1. Whether you arrive at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, find your way to the B1 floor. There will be two types of subway that can take you to Seoul Station:
AREX Express Train and AREX All-Stop Train. AREX Express subway trains will take you directly to Seoul Station, costing 9,500 KRW, taking about 45 minutes. 2. At Seoul Station, go to the ground floor (the subway arrives underground), there will be a ticket office and ticket machines (available in English). Buy a train ticket to Daejeon Station. Options include:
‘Mugunghwa’ train at 10,800 KRW (2-hour journey with departures every hour)
‘KTX’ train at 23,700 KRW (1-hour journey with departures every 30 minutes
Buy a ticket at the price and departure time suitable for you. You can pay in cash or with a credit card. Be aware tickets may be sold out already, but standing only tickets are usually available for ‘Mugunghwa’. There are other options, like ‘ITX’ and ‘SRT’. As long as the train stops at Daejeon, you should be fine.
