Scholarship for International Students

a. Academic Excellence Scholarship for International Students

The Academic Excellence Scholarship for international students is automatically selected without a separate application and is reflected on invoice. The term "tuition fees" refers to the fees excluding the admission fee (650,000 won) included from the 2023 academic year.
Scholarship for the next semester is based on the first-semester GPA, and scholarship for the next academic year's first semester is based on the previous semester GPA.

b. Work-Study Scholarship
A scholarship granted to students who have worked for a certain period in administrative departments or academic departments (majors).

Work Placement Departments (e.g., SGP, Dormitory Management, Visa Support Team, International Student Support Team, Global Center, International Administration Office, Korean Language Institute, Foreign Language Education Institute, Career Development Support Center, and each department). Scholarship payment guidelines apply equally to both Korean and international students.

Woosong Family Scholarship
  • Scholarship for students who are currently enrolled in the Undergraduate program at Woosong University, who come from a household with 2 or more members.
  • Candidates are selected for each semester, both for the first and second semesters.
  • For the first semester, students apply to the scholarship in the first week of April, and for the second semester, in the first week of October.
  • The initial semester for new and transfer students is not subject to grade criteria, while current students are selected with a GPA of 2.00 or above in the previous semester.
  • Support in amount of 300,000 won per person per semester.
  • Living expenses scholarships are provided in the form of cash payments.
External Academic Scholarship
  • For students who submit records of winning awards in external academic activities such as competitions and contests are eligible for differentiated support based on the scale of the event, graded from A to E. Students who achieve a certain position within the top three will receive varying levels of assistance.
  • Candidates are selected for each semester, both for the first and second semesters.
  • Submissions must be made to the scholarship team through the departments, including performance records and supporting documents. For the first semester (March to August), in the first week of August. For the second semester (September to February), in the first week of January.
  • The maximum provided support of 1 million won per person per semester
  • Living expenses scholarships are provided in the form of cash payments.
"Faculty/Staff Dependent Scholarship
  • When admission is confirmed, you must submit the relevant documents directly to the General Affairs Department and apply.
  • The children of full-time faculty and regular staff receive a 50% scholarship. The children of visiting faculty and contract employees receive a 30% scholarship.
  • Scholarship recipients are selected for the 2nd (winter) semester based on their GPA from the 1st (summer) semester, and for the following year's 1st (summer) semester based on their GPA from the 2nd (winter) semester.
  • Candidates who have earned 12 credits or more in the previous semester with a GPA of 2.00 or above. Additionally, they must have earn 3 or more credits during the summer and winter semesters.
  • If a faculty or staff member retires, the scholarship is canceled.
  • The scholarship results in a pre-deduction on the tuition invoice.
Overseas Internship Scholarship
  • Once the country and university for the overseas internship are finalized, submit the required documents directly to the department for application.
  • Up to a maximum of 50% reduction is granted per person per semester.
  • After successfully completing the course with the tuition-based scholarship, you will receive the post-completion scholarship.
Overseas Training Expenses Scholarship
  • Assistance in covering the educational expenses charged during the participation in the affiliated university program.
  • The educational expenses abroad are wired through the living expenses scholarships.
Woosong Scholarship Association
  • Annually, the Woosong Scholarship Foundation identifies students with admirable character, making a positive impact on their community, and those who embody the qualities of a global leader. Selected students are then offered various opportunities for both domestic and international programs.
  • Annually, the announcement for the selection process is made between the end of March and the beginning of April on the Woosong Scholarship Foundation and Woosong University websites.
  • Applicants review the scholarship selection criteria and opt to apply through one of the categories: academic excellence, achievements in external academic activities, or outstanding proficiency in foreign languages.
  • Selection process involves initial document review, followed by a second-round interview, and ultimately, a third in-depth interview for the final selection.
  • Upon selection, eligibility as a Woosong scholarship student is maintained until graduation. Following graduation, a dedicated alumni association is established to facilitate continuous interaction and networking among scholarship recipients.

c. External Scholarship
Departmental Recommendation Type: In instances where an external organization seeks a recommendation from the university for an individual, the department sends a letter of collaboration to facilitate the recommendation process.
Student Application Type: When an external organization requests individual student applications without specifying a limit on the recommended number, the information is posted on the Woosong University website notice board.

  • Recommendation Eligibility: Currently enrolled in the undergraduate program of a domestic university and completed at least two semesters as a self-supporting international student. Evaluation criteria include academic performance (50 points), TOPIK (40 points), and additional points for overseas Koreans.
  • Support Amount: Living Expenses, Annual 5,000,000 KRW (Monthly 500,000 KRW).

  • Depending on the enrollment capacity for Indonesian exchange student admissions.
  • Support Amount: Assistance for Tuition and Living Expenses.
